JOB TITLE: Senior Accountant
LOCATION: Tampa, FL
DURATION: Direct Hire
RATE RANGE: $90k-$100k

Summary:

The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial operations, including the monthly close of books. This person will work closely with the Controller and follow GAAP standards in all financial activities.

Responsibilities:

• ccounting Operations: Record and verify transactions, maintain the general ledger, and ensure proper allocation of assets, liabilities, revenue, and expenses.
• Reconciliation & Reporting: Perform account reconciliations, produce financial reports (e.g., balance sheets, profit and loss statements), and ensure accurate reporting.
• udit Support: Help manage internal and external audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Month/Year-End Close: Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes and ensure accuracy before submitting final reports.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• ssist in training and mentoring other accounting staff.
• Potentially supervise the scheduling and daily workflow of junior accounting team members.

Required Skills & Abilities:

• Proficient in MS Excel and accounting software.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
• Effective communication and time management skills.
• Detail-oriented, highly motivated, and able to manage multiple tasks.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• Experience: At least 5 years of accounting experience, with a strong grasp of accounting principles.
• Industry Knowledge: Construction experience or familiarity with the industry is a plus.
• Certifications: CPA license (or working toward one) is preferred.
• dditional Preferences: Experience in a publicly traded company, financial reporting, SOX/internal controls is an advantage.

Physical Requirements:

• Capability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally
