Job Description

The Manager of Organizational Development (OD) will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing strategies that enhance organizational effectiveness, foster a culture of learning and growth, and develop future leaders. This role will oversee talent management processes, including succession planning, performance management, and employee engagement, to align with Beacon Health System’s strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Organizational Development Leadership

  • Develop and implement organization development and talent management initiatives, including leadership development, team effectiveness, coaching, and change management.
  • Partner with senior leaders and HR business partners to assess talent gaps and align development strategies with business objectives.
  • Lead the succession planning process, ensuring identification and development of high-potential talent.
  • Utilize assessment tools, including 360-degree feedback, to enhance leadership and workforce effectiveness.
  • Oversee and enhance employee engagement and retention strategies, including employee listening tools.
  • Collaborate with the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (DEIB) department to design and implement DEIB training and development programs at all levels.
  • Ensure that all OD initiatives align with organizational strategy and goals.

Talent Management & Development

  • Manage leadership development programs, including New Leader Orientation, Leadership Connection Day, and the Physician Mentorship Program.
  • Oversee employee recognition programs, ensuring a culture of appreciation and engagement.
  • Drive performance management strategies to cultivate a high-performance culture.
  • Evaluate OD initiatives using data and key metrics to measure effectiveness and impact.
  • Stay up to date on OD trends and best practices to continuously enhance programs and offerings.

Team & Program Management

  • Oversee and develop a high-performing team, providing guidance, mentorship, and professional growth opportunities.
  • Select, train, and supervise staff while fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Lead and improve key organizational programs such as General Orientation, Onboarding, e.Crew, and Talent Reviews .
  • Ensure continuous improvement by assessing department performance and implementing enhancements.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and consultants to enhance development initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field ( Master’s degree preferred ).
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in Organizational Development, Talent Management, or related fields.
  • Strong expertise in leadership development, competency modeling, coaching, learning facilitation, and change management.
  • Experience using talent assessment tools, such as Korn Ferry Leadership Architect (KFLA) and succession planning frameworks, preferred.
  • Proven ability to integrate DEIB principles into leadership development and organizational effectiveness strategies.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and influence skills, with the ability to engage and build trust with senior leadership.
  • Strong project management and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
