Job Description

Microvellum Engineer

Position Summary:
The Microvellum Engineer will provide accurate and detailed programs, shop drawings, and submittals utilizing Microvellum, in addition to providing support to the Production and Project Management team across multiple projects.

Average of 45 hours per week and weekends may be required. St

Required education and experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED required, vocational certificate or degree preferred;
  • Two years of verifiable experience in the commercial cabinetry trade required, with an understanding of fabrication and production techniques preferred;
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microvellum Toolbox required;
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, documents, & specifications;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of project lifecycle;
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to other line of business software applications, processes, and procedures;
  • Self-motivated with an eagerness to learn, grow, and advance expertise;
  • Strong technical aptitude with analytical, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills that demonstrate the ability to resolve complex issues;
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills;
  • Experience with commonly used construction software a plus.
  • Must have initiative, be a self-starter and problem solver. Must be able to work in a team environment with little to no supervision

Essential functions:

  • Use Microvellum Toolbox to provide and maintain accurate shop drawings and submittals, to ensure timely production, per customer specifications;
  • Thoroughly communicate with the Project Management team regarding items that may affect the overall project (pricing, scheduling, delivery, etc.);
  • Take ownership of internal design-intent, confirming the functionality of products, and provide a solution to potential problems;
  • Use Microvellum Toolbox to produce both custom and production programs for manufacturing facility;
  • Provide a take-off of materials, requisitioning from and coordinating with the Procurement department;
  • Use 2D and 3D drawings to communicate product details to improve fabrication and decrease field labor, assembly time, and complications;
  • Provide inline quality assurance, reviewing cut lists, final optimizations package, and overall project prior to releasing for production;
  • Drive process improvement, best practices, and new technology;
  • Meet or exceed deadlines with limited supervision;
  • Interface with multiple departments and individuals;
  • Demonstrate commitment to deliver outstanding service;
  • Other duties or tasks as deemed necessary by management.
  • Clarify any and all outstanding manufacturing questions

Working Conditions:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and copy machines.
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
