We are looking for exceptional mission-driven individuals who can design and build next-generation products at the intersection of AI and Climate Technology.

About the Role

As the Founding AI Engineer , you will take ownership of the technical stack with a focus on delivering AI-driven solutions that address complex environmental challenges. This is a hands-on role with the opportunity to grow into a leadership position as the company scales.

Within the first 12–18 months, you will:

  • Develop and Launch an AI-Powered MVP : Deliver a functional product leveraging advanced machine learning techniques, iterating based on user feedback to achieve product-market fit.
  • Drive AI Innovation: Spearhead development in fine-tuning , retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) , prompt engineering , reinforcement learning and integrating large language models (LLMs) into customer-facing applications.
  • Implement Scalable Technical Solutions : Develop and deploy foundational systems in search engines, document management/OCR, data pipelines, and AI ensuring they are robust and capable of supporting 10x future growth.
  • Establish AI-First Product Development Processes: Streamline development cycles to reduce iteration time by 50%, leveraging best practices in AI and agile methodologies.
  • Define the Technical Architecture : Design and document a scalable, secure, and modular technical architecture supporting long-term product and business goals.
  • Recruit and Inspire Engineering Talent : Hire and onboard additional engineers while fostering a high-performing and collaborative engineering culture.
  • Set Standards for Engineering Excellence : Implement and enforce coding standards, architecture principles, and agile methodologies to ensure maintainable and high-quality codebases.
  • Align Product Vision and Technology Strategy : Collaborate with the founding team to finalize a 12-month technology roadmap within the first 45 days, ensuring alignment with customer needs and business objectives.
About You

You are a highly skilled and motivated engineer with a passion for building AI-driven products that address critical global challenges. You thrive in startup environments, taking projects from zero-to-one , and have a proven ability to deliver end-to-end technical solutions while inspiring and leading others.

Key Qualifications:
  • AI Expertise: Demonstrated experience in applying large language models (LLMs) , information retrieval , NLP , and machine learning techniques to production systems.
  • Model Development & Deployment: Proficient in fine-tuning , retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) , and deploying models into production environments using scalable data pipelines and ML Ops best practices.
  • Backend Development : Strong expertise in building and integrating backend systems, with a solid understanding of databases, API design and implementation, server-side architectures, cloud environments, and performance optimization.
  • Frontend Development: Strong expertise in building, and integrating both front-end and back-end systems. Proficient in modern client-side frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js, with a solid understanding of state management libraries (e.g., Redux, MobX) and responsive design principles. Skilled in backend development, including API design, server-side architectures, database management, and cloud environments. Experience with integrating and optimizing end-to-end systems to deliver seamless user experiences.
  • System Design & Scalability: Proven ability to design modular, secure, and scalable architectures for robust and future-proof AI-driven applications.
  • Search and Document Systems: Expertise in building and optimizing search engines , integrating OCR tools, and creating workflows for document management.
  • Startup Execution / Builder: Experience leading technical development in zero-to-one environments, including building MVPs, iterating quickly on user feedback, and accelerating development cycles. We are looking for a builder!
