Job Description

Fill in Optometry position in a successful General Ophthalmology practice in the Murrieta/Temecula area with emphasis on cataract surgery in a state of the art leading edge practice. The position will be full or part time with potential to extend long term. The Optometrist will work closely with the surgeon and see general patients managing routine patient care for glasses and/or contact lenses, including RGP contacts, Glaucoma, ARMD, and Diabetic patients utilizing anterior and posterior segment Cirrus OCT, Fundus photography, Topography, and Humphrey Visual Fields.

-Provide primary vision care to patients including diagnosis and treatment of medical eye conditions.
-Engage patients in conversation to determine their vision problems.
-Maintain knowledge of eye diseases such as; ARMD, Diabetic Retinopathy, Glaucoma, etc.
-Analyze test results to determine the cause and nature of eye disease.
-Formulate and implement treatment plans to counter eye problems and diseases.
-Prescribe medications to treat eye diseases.
-Educate patients on the use and care of eyes such as visual hygiene, and contact lens care.
-Coordinate patient care with Ophthalmologist if treatment course and/or diagnosis are beyond scope of practice.
-Provide post-operative care to patients who underwent cataract extraction.
-Prescribe vision glasses.
-Conduct excellent and professional patient care.
