The Law Office of Shane R. Kadlec is seeking an Entry Level Legal Assistant to support our legal and office staff. This position is ideal for individuals looking to build a career in the legal field, whether you have had previous experience or not. As an established and growing firm in West Houston, we specialize in helping injured victims and their families. Our ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, able to handle a variety of tasks from greeting clients to assisting with case management duties, and most importantly, willing and wanting to learn! We believe in empowering our staff and providing the support needed to excel in your role.

Compensation:

• $42,500+ per year, depending on experience, as well as full benefits package.

As our Entry Level Legal Assistant, your duties will include administrative and case management tasks, including:

• Greeting clients and visitors both by phone and in person, providing excellent customer service.
• Answering, screening, and forwarding phone calls to attorneys, paralegals, and legal staff.
• Organizing and inputting client information accurately into case management software.
• Maintaining office and common areas.
• Maintaining the firm's calendar, confirming appointments, and assisting with scheduling.
• Coordinating and communicating with medical providers for client treatment.
• Drafting and sending documents to send to insurance companies and medical providers.
• Ordering medical and billing records.
• Assisting with legal research and communicating with clients, medical professionals, insurance adjusters, and opposing counsel.

To be successful in this role, candidates should have the following qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; some college or an Associate’s degree preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English.
• At least 1 year of experience in a customer service or office setting. Prior experience in a law firm is a plus but not required.
• Strong organizational skills and an eye for detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with data entry.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high attention to detail.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to manage time effectively.
• Must be comfortable speaking on the phone and handling high call volumes.
• A team player who is adaptable and willing to learn.

Our hours are Monday through Thursday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and Friday 8:00 am to 2:30 pm.
