KO Business Solutions is a professional staffing firm in the Chicagoland area that supports the hiring needs of companies across the country. Our partner in the environmental consulting industry is looking to add an entry-level Due Diligence Staff Scientist to their team to help support field activities and reporting for their team.

Location :   Hybrid, Lisle, IL

Schedule:  M-F, 8am-5pm with some outside hours required

Salary :  $55,000-$65,000

Job-Type : Full-Time, Permanent 

The Due Diligence Staff Scientist will support and prepare Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (in accordance with ASTM Standard E1527, Standard Practice for Environmental Site Assessments) to identify recognized environmental conditions and other conditions of environmental concern for a project and related off-site properties. The successful candidate should possess a due diligence knowledge and strong technical writing skills. Duties and Responsibilities

• Complete Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) to identify Recognized Environmental Conditions (RECs) and other adverse environmental conditions as outlined in the scope of work.
  
• Review previous assessment reports, historical and regulatory records for the property and for the surrounding area, and report data in accordance with ASTM criteria and/or client's scope of work.
  
• Conduct interviews with appropriate project stakeholders and government officials to obtain information concerning the environmental conditions related to the property and adjacent properties.
  
• Writes reports which accurately convey the environmental assessment and provide exhibits and photos which illustrate or clarify information presented in the body of the report.
  
• Perform other duties as assigned.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in environmental science, geology, engineering, or similar field
• 1+ years relevant due diligence experience
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Excel
  
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
  
• Strong interpersonal skills
  
• Problem solving and critical thinking skills
  
• Ability to be organized, self-motivated, dependable, personable, and able to multitask and work effectively as a team player
  
• Strong technical writing skills.
